Face symmetry!!!
Let me start by saying this: I have a very asymmetrical face. I’m sure most people don’t notice (even life long friends and family; for instance my mum only realized for the first time when I was nearly 20!) Anyway I have these enormous eyes, of which one is more almond shaped and elongated while the other is rounder and more cutesy-looking. I’ve noticed my bottom lip is ever so slightly fuller on one side and the same goes for my nose!
You guys must be picturing some kind of alien, but in all honesty- no vanity or narcissism when I say this- I’m OK looking, haha. To be fair, even celebrities have asymmetrical faces on closer observation- and I’m informed one of the first cosmetic surgeries done on many celebrities is for the sole purpose of making their faces more symmetrical. I find this very, very interesting.
The other day I was looking through the old family album and the faint thought crossed my mind that I was a lot cuter as a kid. I mean, yeah, all children are adorable, but I started to wonder where my appearance took a turn for the worse. I’m 21 now, and it just seemed incredible to me that my actual facial features looked extremely different from, let’s say, a mere five years ago. And then I noticed some changes in photos taken from a few months ago and today.
I’ve realized that as I was gaining weight my face lost a lot of its uniformity (probably because of the loss of definition) and as I lost weight my face regained a lot of its original “oneness”. It sounds obvious and not like much of a revelation at all, but to me it’s a major boost in motivation and confidence :D
I’m not satisfied with the way I look yet, but I’ll get there one day :)
